One of the most valuable things we offer to TWA members is the opportunity to meet with others who are working in your genre (or close to it). Joining and participating in a critique group can significantly add to your skill set, possibly cut down your editing chores and costs, and improve the quality of your final press-ready product.
Whether you write creative non-fiction, poetry, sci-fi/fantasy, chick lit, adults only, literary fiction, children's chapbooks, or YA/NA, a critique group will improve your writing.
If you want to be included in a critique group, contact TWA Critique Group Coordinator Kathryn Lord with the genre you are currently working in, and she will either find an existing group wanting additional members, or help start a new group.
In most instances, there is a requirement to send a sample of your work to an existing group, so members can determine if you are a good fit for them—but don’t let that deter you!
