Don’t ask Mom to read it!
One service we want to offer every writer in our area is the
chance to join a critique group to get genuinely helpful feedback on a work in
progress. It’s important to find a critique group that matches your needs. Some
of us want mostly encouragement; some of us want to get published and are
looking for more strenuous feedback. If your first attempts at finding a
critique group don’t pan out, keep trying.
Informal
We offer informal critique sessions after general meetings.
Bring six copies of a short manuscript (two to three pages) to share and let an
officer know you want to get feedback on your work. Usually there are several people who bring a work in
progress to share.
Formal
Through TWA, several groups of writers have linked up with
other writers who offer honest evaluations of their works. These groups often
email each other their manuscripts in advance of meetings, which may take place
in members’ homes or in some public place. If you are interested in joining one
of these groups, please fill out the form below. The form will be available at meetings also.
