POETRY & HAIKU CONTEST

Winners of the 2009 Penumbra Contest

ALL ENTRIES MUST BE POSTMARKED by August 31, 2010

Contest does not accept work previously published or having received awards in other competitions.

Categories: No limit on entries in either or both categories. All skill levels welcome.

Poetry up to 50 lines, any style or subject; line length may be edited to fit chapbook publication format

3-line haiku (need not conform to strict syllable count)

Prizes: Poetry $100, $75, $50; haiku, $50, $35, $20.

Top four winners in each category are published in the Seven Hills Review and mailed a complimentary copy. Selected finalists may also be published.

Entries:
1. In the body of the email include your contact information: name, address, phone, and email address.
2. Include your submission title or the first line of your haiku in your email.
3. Within the body of the email, write a brief bio with most recent or noteworthy awards and publications. Keep to three or four lines, please.
4. Submit poems and haiku as electronic attachments in MS Word (doc) or rich text (rtf) format to penumbra@tallahasseewriters.net7 (Remove the 7 manually before sending the email.) Do not include your name on these files.
5. Snail mail the completed Penumbra Cover Sheet along with fees of $5 per poem; $3 per haiku to: TWA Penumbra, P. O. Box 3428, Tallahassee, FL 32315-3428

Notification: Winner and finalist notifications emailed no later than Dec. 30, 2010.
List posted to sponsor Web site by Dec. 30, 2010.

Judging: Judges are published, recognized poets and haiku experts. All judging is blind.
