Complete Conference Schedule
“Florida Writes!” is the theme of the 2011 Tallahassee Festival of Books and Writers Conference, sponsored by the Tallahassee Writers Association, Florida State University, Florida Book Awards, and the LeRoy Collins Leon County Public Library. The Florida Book Awards and the Friends of Florida State Libraries are working closely with us in planning a week-long celebration of all things book.
Kickoff Friday night
Meet and Greet with cash bar and free hors d'oeuvres. Lee Gutkind, the "godfather of creative nonficiton," will speak.
Free and open to the public.
Conference Sessions
Writers will have two different sessions to choose from throughout the day Saturday with
stellar presenters. Fiction Intensive with James Scott Bell. Creative Nonfiction with Lee Gutkind. Children’s literature with Donna Ballman adn Adrian Fogelin. Agent Intensive and Screenwriting with Chuck Sambuchino. Plus a variety of other options.
Conference and Festival Funding
Additional conference and festival funding will be provided by a City of Tallahassee Community Cultural Services Grant.
